| GRADE LEVEL: | Elementary 4-6 |
| SKILLS: | Speaking, Listening |
| TIME: | 30 minutes or more (depending on the class size) |
| MATERIALS: | Many Flash cards (fruits, vegetables, colors, sports and animals), 4x4 or 5x5 Blank Bingo Sheet |
| OBJECTIVES: | To review target vocabulary |
| | To build confidence in speaking and presenting |
PROCEDURE:
1. Choose the categories that you would like to review. This could be anything that you have taught before. (I normally use fruits and vegetables, animals, colors sports subjects). Each category must have flashcards clearly displayed on the blackboard. I have about 8-10 flashcards per category.
2. Students are then given a blank Bingo sheet. They must choose randomly four things from each category(This is often written in Japanese by the students).
3. The HRT chooses the first student to present ( I usually assign numbers to each student and a volunteer from the class chooses a number from a box)
4. The class will ask chorally “What vegetable do you like?”
“What color do you like?”
“What fruit do you like?” and so on.
5. The student responds to each question.
“I like lettuce.”
“I like blue.”
“I like raspberries.”
6. The students will then proceed to play Bingo.
NOTES:
The student who is presenting cannot get BINGO from what they present. There will be repetitions but this will ensure that everyone get a chance to shout BINGO!!!!
